Parking Ticket Appeal by Mail
Click on the link below for the form used for a ticket appeal for a parking
ticket issued in the Town of Barnstable. The Parking Hearings Officer will
review your request and respond to your appeal in writing within 2 to 3
weeks to the address you provide.
Instructions:
1. Fill in the top section with your name, mailing address and telephone
number. Please supply the ticket number as well as your vehicle registration
number (license plate).
2. In the “Statement” section, please state your reasons for the appeal. If
you feel it would assist the Parking Clerk in making her decision, please
supply any other documentation that may have a bearing on your appeal.
3. If you have a handicapped placard please supply a copy and mail it in
along with the hearing form and ticket itself.
4. Mail your appeal form and original ticket to Barnstable Parking Clerk,
200 Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601 or email your appeal.
In the event your appeal is denied, payment must be received at 200 Main
Street, Hyannis, MA within 10 days of the date of the denial to avoid any
late fees.

Ch. 90: Sec 20A, which states “the alleged parking violator may, upon
receipt of the notice to appear, send a signed statement explaining his
objections to the violation notice as well as signed statements from
witnesses, police officers, government officials and any other relevant
parties. Photographs, diagrams, maps and other documents may also be sent
with the statements. Any such statements or materials sent to the parking
clerk for review shall have attached the perons’ name and address as well as
the ticket number and the date of the violation. ***
