12-04-06 – 65014 Principal Division Assistant – Part-time, Health: Clerical, customer service, recordkeeping, and data entry work to support the operations of the Health Division; all other related work as required.  High school diploma with courses in office procedures, accounting, business and computers; Associates Degree in business administration or related field preferred; three years experience in the use of computer applications; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.  General knowledge of Division operations.  Familiarity with the basic functions of the other Divisions of the Regulatory Services Department.  Ability to work tactfully and patiently with the general public.  Ability to organize clerical and statistical records.  Ability to operate various types of office equipment.  Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheet and database.  Accurate typing and data input.  Required to have excellent customer service skills.  $369.80 weekly (20 hrs) + benefits  Open to Town of Barnstable Employees through 5/11/12 and to the Public through 5/22/12

12-04-03 – 74007 Custodian, Structures & Grounds:  Semi skilled manual work involving responsibility for the care and maintenance of a public building or buildings and related equipment; all other related work as required.  One year of experience in clerical or maintenance work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Class D driver’s license required.  Ability to obtain pesticide license within probationary period may be required.  General knowledge of cleaning materials and methods.  Ability to perform moderately physical labor.  Basic skills in performing preventative maintenance on plant and equipment.  $634.25 weekly + benefits  Open to Town of Barnstable Employees through 5/4/12 and to the Public through 5/15/12

12-03-08 - 66052 Seasonal Boat Ramp Attendant, Marine & Environmental Affairs:  Supports overall ramp operation by greeting the public, providing information, collecting fees, monitoring car and trailer parking, and maintaining security; all other related work as required.  High School diploma.  Some familiarity with boats and trailering.  MA Driver’s License.  Must be able to work on weekends and holidays.  $10.00 hourly, no benefits. 

12-03-10 – 66053 Seasonal Pumpout Boat Operator/Assistant Harbormaster, Marine & Environmental Affairs: Hard working, motivated individual needed to help administer boat pumpout program, communicate with boat owners, establish pumping schedule, and dispose of the solid waste to the septage waste facility.  Assists in patrolling town waters and ensuring the safety of vessels and persons using town waters and facilities; assists the Division with the maintenance and placement of all aids to navigation.  Must have thorough knowledge of harbor and waterway regulations and proper procedures, of mooring tackle, setups, rigging and maintenance and mooring management; and general knowledge of Coast Guard regulations and procedures.  Must be able to perform general maintenance and mechanical repair work.  Frequent moderate to strenuous physical effort required performing duties in all weather conditions.  High school diploma desirable with two years experience in a related maritime field or graduate of vocational school marine science program; demonstrated knowledge and skill in boat handling, docking, launching and recovery with at least two years of boat handling experience with power boats in all weather conditions; knowledge of rescue operations, knowledge of maritime laws, regulations and practices, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  CPR, First Aid or First Responder desirable.  Class D Driver’s License required.  Must have good computer skills.  Must be able to swim.  40 hours per week through Mid-October.  $14.50 hourly, no benefits.

12-02-14 - 74100 Seasonal Laborers, Structures & Grounds: Routine manual work in public works construction and maintenance activities.  Assist with daily maintenance of large commercial mowers such as, blade sharpening, oil changes, etc. Maintains both cemeteries and grounds throughout the Town. Familiar with planting and maintaining annual/perennial flower and shrub beds.  Operates mowers and gas string trimmers for long periods of time on a daily basis.  Assist with monument foundations, marker installation and ancient stone restorations.  High School graduate or in a qualified School internship program, and some experience in public works related activities; or any other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Valid driver’s license required.  $11.00 hourly, no benefits.

12-02-15  – 74101 Seasonal Laborers, Structures & Grounds: Routine manual work in public works construction and maintenance activities.  Assist with daily maintenance of large commercial mowers such as, blade sharpening, oil changes, etc.  Maintains both cemeteries and grounds throughout the Town.  Familiar with planting and maintaining annual/perennial flower and shrub beds.  Operates mowers and gas string trimmers for long periods of time on a daily basis.  Assist with monument foundations, marker installation and ancient stone restorations.  High School graduate or in a qualified School internship program, and some experience in public works related activities; or any other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Valid driver’s license required.  $11.00 hourly, no benefits.

12-03-12 – 74102 Seasonal Laborers, Buildings, Structures & Grounds:  Routine manual work in public works maintenance activities; all other work as required.  Performs custodial duties such as cleaning, washing, sweeping and stocking Comfort Stations, Offices and other areas as needed.  Assist in the maintenance, painting, and repair of various structures.  May assist the Buildings Section in replacement of various plumbing fixtures in Municipal Buildings and irrigation systems.  May assist the Electrician in the repair and/or installation of various electrical systems.  High School graduate or in a qualified School Internship program, and some experience in public works related activities; or any other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Carpentry skills a plus.  Valid driver’s license required.  $11.00 hourly, no benefits. 

12-02-16 – 74103 Seasonal Laborers, Structures & Grounds: Routine manual work in public works construction and maintenance activities.  Maintains both cemeteries and grounds throughout the Town.  Able to negotiate the compacting and loading operations of a Commercial Rear-loading Trash Truck.  Assist with daily maintenance of large commercial mowers such as, blade sharpening, oil changes, etc.  Familiar with planting and maintaining annual/perennial flower and shrub beds.  Operates mowers and gas string trimmers for long periods of time on a daily basis.  High School graduate or in a qualified School internship program, and some experience in public works related activities; or any other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Valid driver’s license required.  $11.00 hourly, no benefits

11-12-01 – 74104 Temporary Custodian, Structures & Grounds:  Semi skilled manual work involving the responsibility for the cleaning of public buildings for the Town of Barnstable.  Experience in building cleaning, painting or general upkeep; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  General knowledge of cleaning materials and methods and the ability to perform moderately physical labor are required.  Subject to CORI/SORI checks.  Position will last a maximum of 14 weeks.  $11.00 hourly, no benefits.

12-04-05 - 77101 Seasonal Airport Workers, Barnstable Municipal Airport:  Routine manual work involving parking and fueling aircraft, collecting aircraft fees, maintaining buildings, grounds and assists staff as needed.  May involve clerical duties.  Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.  Some knowledge of airport rules/operations desirable.  Must have the ability to operate hand tools and power equipment, ability to understand oral instructions and perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions.  Also, must have ability and willingness to follow safety procedures. Assists with the airport’s noise program.  $12.00 hourly, no benefits.

Old Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course and Hyannis Golf Course are seeking qualified individuals for full and part time Seasonal Positions in the Pro Shops and Golf Maintenance. $9.00 - $11.00 per hour/no benefits  Open until filled  Applications available here or either Pro Shop. Information on Seasonal Positions with the Recreation Division will be available beginning March 1st at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center, 141 Bassett Lane, Hyannis, MA. 02601, 508-790-6345 and on their webpage under Recreation.  When applying for a Seasonal Position please be specific as there are requirements for many of the positions.
